How I Lost Weight with this Avocado Toast Recipe

Can you believe I lost my extra kilos with Avocado Toast? I was in the process of losing all the weight I had gained from binge eating due to stress through my college years. I couldn’t stick to any of the healthier options for breakfast I found online. But I didn’t want to give up on fitting into my old sexy bikini because of a boring breakfast. Avocado toasts have been my best friend ever since. I love it when I get the chance and time to experiment with the most basic food there is. I love how there are endless ways to use avocados and make the most delicious of meals. 

Who doesn’t love a toasted bread? But combined with the goodness of seasoned avocados and toppings of your liking, Heaven! This avocado toast recipe is simple, but I bring to you my own set of tricks to help you take this easy recipe to the next level.

Good quality avocados are the key to getting the perfect avocado cream. You can mix and match with different toppings like eggs, your favorite herbs and a personal favorite, garlic powder.

The Basic Ingredients

  • 1 piece thick cut grainy bread
  • ½ large ripe avocado
  • 1-2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • Kosher salt and black pepper to taste
  • Garlic clove

How to make it:

  1. Cut 2 slices of bread. Toast the bread in a toaster or in a skillet until golden brown.
  2. Peel the garlic clove and rub it over the top of the warm toasted bread
  3. Halve the avocado and remove the pit.
  4. Scoop out the avocado flesh from both halves and place it in a bowl
  5. Add a small squeeze of fresh lemon juice, salt and pepper to the bowl and mash the avocado with a fork. 
  6. Divide the avocado mixture and spread it on top of each slice of toast. Use toppings of your choice.
